SPRING 2020. Lockdown had begun, and we were all looking for ways to make the best of our time and stay connected with friends.

That’s when Eric Nalbone, head of marketing for Drum Technologies, got in touch to see if I could help with the launch of Scout, an app that enables people to share and organize recommendations without having them get lost in e-mail and text threads.

He needed copy for its website, App-store profile, and early social-media presence. Given all that was going on, time for the project was limited, so we focused on the fundamentals: what it is, how it works, and why it’s important.

I wrote a couple pages of “anchor points” along with lines related to those themes, we talked them over, and completed everything in a quick sprint.
