THROUGH A STROKE OF LUCK I hesitate to take credit for, I joined the staff of Esquire in 2006. There I had the chance to learn from some of most-talented editors I’ll ever know and work on stories by authors such as Daniel Woodrell, Chuck Klosterman, James Lee Burke, Lisa Taddeo, and Stephen King. These were years in which I was surrounded by heroes.
My primary role was on the magazine’s copy desk, but I also contributed a piece for the Napkin Fiction Project and penned a column for the website that took a satirical view on cultural curation. Unfortunately, some of them were lost in the course of site redesigns.
